The Face of COVID19

Okay, 2020 – Not Cool

Anyone else feel like they just want to crawl under the covers and come out when COVID19 is all over? We see you, we hear you. It’s a crazy world out there right now, especially in New York City, and it’s totally normal to feel scared and overwhelmed. To be honest, even our lovebug pup Jefe has been sad due to quarantine! He loves being social with other pups at the park and getting out for walks. Luckily, snuggling with each other throughout the day helps.

Our “New Normal”

Unfortunately, we’ve had some big adjustments to make in our business due to COVID19. Of course, the most important thing is that people are doing their best to stay safe and flatten the curve, but it’s still scary having weddings cancelled! So far, we’ve had one wedding cancel, two weddings and two elopements postponed, and one engagement session postponed. We’re still planning on elopements for later in the year, and engagement sessions for the summer – but we have to wait a few weeks to see how things are going before setting a date.

Routine is Important

With news on COVID19 changing by the minute, there’s only so much you can do to stay sane and safe. At Jenny Fu Studio, we’ve been doing everything we can to prepare for the future and ensure that when this is over, we’re ready to serve you better than ever! Since we aren’t shooting right now, we’ve been spending time scheduling social media, creating rich pins for our blog, and even making small changes to past work to bring it up to our new standards! We’re also lucky that working from home has been our reality for around 8 years now, so we know how to stay on task. Keeping a routine is key, this is Jenny’s:

  • 8:00 – Wake up & morning activities (coffee!!)
  • 9:00 – Begin workday/check emails (3 hours)
    • Make a list of things to do
  • 12:00 – Break for lunch (1 hour)
  • 1:00 – Back to work (1 hour)
  • 2:00 – Feed the dog, go out for a walk (1 hour)
  • 3:00 – Back to work/meetings
  • 6:00 – End workday

Spend only an hour a day watching the news

With social distancing becoming our “new normal” it can be hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. But it’s there! Remind yourself what you’re grateful for, and take this time to really analyze your business.

During this time, let’s work on those creative projects we have been putting on the backburner! Painting, drawing, learning a new instrument, online courses, etc. Stay inspired with daily walks and focus on the positive!

If you were lucky enough to get married in 2019, this is a great time to write those reviews you’ve been putting off! Small businesses need you right now, and this is a great way to show your support! Write one for us here if you haven’t already.

Once this is all over, we will want to celebrate HUGELY! We’re hopeful for the end of 2020 and so excited for a killer 2021!
