Kaitlyn and David met in New York City several years ago. Their undeniable attraction for each other eventually leads them to a beautiful day in late August 2016 where they were united as one.
The bride’s vision for her wedding reflected her love for the 1920 era in history. From the decor of the brownstone where she got ready to the dress, the shoes, and the ceremony, everything tied into her vision of a Roaring Twenties wedding.
Kaitlyn got her hair and makeup done in her sister’s gorgeous brownstone in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Although I tried to contain my excitement, shooting “getting ready” photos in a brownstone was a dream come true! There was so much character in the building, and the photos captured were classic and timeless. Kaitlyn’s sequin wedding gown from Kleinfeld was a perfect match for her. She wore Stuart Weitzman heels and her gorgeous bouquet was from Snowdrop Flowers.
Kaitlyn and David’s first look was so intimate and sweet. Looking back at the images, I couldn’t help but notice the excitement and nervousness they both felt. The couple was married right on the water in between Manhattan and Brooklyn, and Jane’s Carousel was closed off just for their special union. After the sun set, the lights from the carousel lit up and I knew I would be capturing some magical images. They rode the carousel under the twinkling lights and embraced their new title of husband and wife. There were magic and romance in the air that night.
The reception was held the next day at Park Asia, a Chinese Restaurant in Brooklyn. The food was amazing, lots of laughter filled the room, and the couple’s wedding cake was light and creamy. I am so happy to have had the opportunity to capture their very special day for them.
